I’m John Bafford. Through my consulting company, Longstride Tech, LLC, I’m a freelance developer, specializing in PHP and Symfony application development, iOS app development, and legacy application remediation.
Formerly, I was the Vice President of Programming Services at The Brick Factory, based in Washington, DC. I was also a Co-Founder and CTO at WiseGuy, an online peer tutoring platform.
For over 23 years, I’ve been doing web application development in PHP. Besides that, I’ve done work in Swift, C/C++, Objective C, Java, JavaScript, Perl, Python, shell scripting, and other languages. I have written a rather large quantity of software.
I’ve also enjoy hiking and beer brewing. Since 2016, I’ve completed more than 8,000 miles of hiking on long-distance trails.
I currently live in Silver Spring, MD.
I graduated from the University of Maryland at College Park in May 2000 with a degree in Computer Science.
I am a Zend Certified PHP Engineer.
